My background in Fine Art encompasses photography, sculpture, drawing and painting, weaving and textiles and I’ve been keen to refer to all of these mediums while thinking about a response to the Cobb environment. It was a real treat to be in a place with permission to indulge with no other pressures than to ponder on the visual feast of this new environment. With 6 months to consider how to digest the images and experiences collected, my first thoughts have been to refer back to the mediums I know and in particular the wild aspects of the landscape. But I am also keen to extend myself by learning new skills and exploring new ways of expression rather than returning to what I know well. Knowing there will be rejects and frustration ahead is just a part of the process.
